Castiglion del Bosco Dainero 2018
Gyártó: Castiglion del Bosco
Cellar for up to 8 years. No need to decant before serving The history of Castiglion del Bosco goes right back to 1100, a time of constant power struggles and vicious battles. Later some of the great Sienese families decided to make this corner of Tuscany their home. Agriculture has always played a prominent role in this fertile area and for more than 800 years Castiglion del Bosco has been prospering. Castiglion del Bosco is located between the historic towns of Buonconvento and Montalcino. It sits on the top of a small hill, which offers just enough elevation to improve the quality of the harvests. Just one of the many factors that enable the vineyard to consistently produce such excellent wines, which garner such praise. Castiglion del Bosco bottled the first Brunello di Montalcino back in the 60’s and their reputation has gone from strength to strength making them one of the most important producers in this part of Tuscany. Even with their successes there is no resting on their laurels and plans are underway to expand the cellar and create new wines. The team are keen to maintain their winning formula of the best quality and respect for tradition. The brilliant ruby colouration of Castiglion del Bosco Dainero confirms this is a wine of 90% merlot and10% sangiovese. In the mouth there are flavours of dark fruit, such as cherry, blackberry and violet, along with leather, and spice. The tannins are strong but silky. Excellent with pasta dishes with meat and tomato sauces, aubergine or mushroom dishes, red meat, and cheese.
