Kaesler Stonehorse Shiraz 2018
Gyártó: Kaesler
Drink now or cellar for up to 8 years. No need to decant before serving. The Kaeslers planted their first vines in the Barossa Valley in 1893, quickly growing their holdings to 96 acres of Shiraz, Mourvedre and Grenache vines. From the very beginning, the family have had their eye on the long-term which is why they practice regenerative agriculture, with each generation aiming to leave the land in better condition than they found it. This powerful cuvee is named after the mighty Clydesdale horses that the family historically used to plough the heavy clay soils in their vineyards before the age of the tractor. Fruit for this wine is sourced from a selection of 33 to 45 year old vineyards and vinified in the classic Kaesler style with plenty of ripe fruit flavours tamed by new and used French oak barrels. Enticing notes of wild berries, cherry and plum dominate on the nose, while the first sip reveals a robust full body, firm tannins and a well-built structure. The ample dark fruit notes and punchy profile makes this a great match for hearty red meat dishes such as a prime steak, beef stews, or game like venison and wild boar.
