Villa Giada Dani Nizza 2016
Gyártó: Villa Giada
Drink now through to 2028. No need to decant before serving. The Villa Giada estate boasts 14 hectares of prime vineyards in the village of Agliano Terme which has one of the finest terroirs for growing Barbera. The Faccio family who have run the estate for three generations farm all of their vineyards sustainably and the grapes for this bottling are harvested by hand in mid-October. Following vinification the young wine is aged in small oak barrels for a year and then aged in the cellar for a few additional months after bottling. The nose opens with charming notes of morello cherry, licorice, and baking spice from the oak ageing. The first sip reveals a bright streak of acidity which perfectly balances the medium body, rich red fruit flavours, and elegant structure. The freshness and vibrant fruit character make this a good match for tomato dishes like pasta served with a rich ragu or a hearty lasagne. Villa Giada is located in the gorgeous hills of Canelli in the heart of the Monferrato UNESCO World Heritage Site which has been recognised as one of the Piedmont’s most important winemaking regions. The family-run estate is currently in the hands of the third generation of the Faccio family who acquired the estate in the 1970s.
