Antinori Pian delle Vigne Rosso di Montalcino 2018
Gyártó: Antinori
Drink now or cellar for up to 7 years. No need to decant before serving. Best known for their breathtaking Super Tuscan wine Tignanello, the Antinori family have been making wine since the 13th century and have played a crucial role in reviving Tuscany’s fortunes as a wine region. The Antinoris are experts in picking out high potential estates and have set up wineries all over the world. The Pian delle Vigne estate was acquired by the family in 1995 and includes 65 hectares of well-sited vineyards just 3.5 miles southwest of Montalcino. The vineyards are planted at 425 feet of elevation and have a southeastern exposure which helps to achieve optimum ripeness while retaining good acidity levels. The property takes its name from a charming old 19th century railway station located nearby. Here the fine clay and gravel soils are excellent for crafting fresh, elegant red wines from Montalcino’s traditional Sangiovese clone. On the nose there are attractive notes of red cherry, earth, and dried Mediterranean herbs while the first sip offers a vibrant freshness, soft tannins, and well-defined structure. This is an excellent gastronomic wine which pairs well with charcuterie, cheeses, and fresh pasta served with a rich tomato ragu.
