Bodegas Ordonez No 2 Victoria Ordonez Moscatel 2017
Gyártó: Bodegas Ordonez
Drink now through to 2029. Serve chilled. This spectacular dessert wine is the perfect example of the traditional sweet wines made in the sunny Malaga region of southern Spain. It is crafted from Muscat of Alexandra which is known locally as Moscatel and was brought to Spain from Egypt some three thousand years ago by the Phoenicians who criss-crossed the Mediterranean on trade missions. To achieve a graceful, perfectly balanced wine the vines are farmed without irrigation and with minimal human intervention using just natural fertilizer from the region’s plentiful goats and mules. The hot climate produces incredibly concentrated flavours in the grapes which are deliberately harvested late to maximise their sugar content. Following the harvest the grapes are carefully dried on mats to add even more intensity of flavour and they are then fermented and aged in stainless steel vats for 8 months. The result is an opulent dessert wine which exudes aromas of honey, candied citrus peel, jasmine and honeysuckle. On the palate there is a decadent sweetness which is nicely balanced by a vibrant acidity and lemon zest flavours. An ideal partner for chocolate mousse, a classic pecan pie or simply to enjoy on its own at the end of a meal instead of dessert.
