Chateau Leoube is owned by the Bamford family who are behind the popular Daylesford Organic brand in the UK and converted their English farm to organic agriculture in the 1970s. In 1997 they fell in love with Chateau Leoube while looking for a house in Provence and soon began converting the estate’s 65 hectares of vineyards and olive groves to become organic. In 2000 they were joined in the project by their neighbour’s son, Romain Ott, who now oversees the wine production on the property. Their stunning rosé wines are now sold in over 30 countries around the world and are admired for their delicious fruity character and skilful winemaking. Thanks to the proximity to the coast, these wines are fresh and elegant with plenty of mouthwatering acidity providing balance to the ripe raspberry, cherry and blood orange fruit flavours. For the delicious Rosé de Leoube cuvee, the Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, and Mourvèdre grapes are carefully harvested by hand and pressed slowly to extract the must. Vinification then takes place in stainless steel tanks to preserve plenty of freshness and aromatics. Bursting with bright red fruit character and hints of sea salt and dried Mediterranean herbs, this is a great wine to pair with seafood, grilled salmon or tuna steaks, or a selection of charcuterie and cheeses.
