Lis Neris Pinot Grigio 2018
Gyártó: Lis Neris
Drink now through to 2024. Serve chilled. Friuli in north-eastern Italy is recognised as one of the country’s finest white wine producing areas, and is especially famous for its crisp and vibrant Pinot Grigios. The Lis Neris estate has been owned by the Pecorari family since 1879 and is set in the Isonzo Valley close to the border with Slovenia. Run by Alvaro Pecorari since 1982, today the property has over 70 hectares of prime vines planted on well-draining gravel soils which take in heat during the day and release it at night, helping the grapes to reach optimum maturity. This youthful and elegant Pinot Grigio grows on the right bank of the Isonzo River where conditions are perfect for achieving ripe fruit flavours balanced by mouthwatering freshness. The grapes are carefully selected and harvested by hand and then fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve the full varietal character. The young wine is then matured on the lees for 8 months and allowed to rest in the bottle for a short while before release. Bright citrus, grapefruit and hints of tropical fruit characterise the nose while the first sip offers a lively streak of acidity and ample citrus and stone fruit flavours. The clean and pure finish with hints of minerality make this a great match for oysters, creamy cheeses and pan-fried fish dishes.
