Quintodecimo Vigna Grande Cerzito Taurasi Riserva 2017
Gyártó: Quintodecimo
Drink it now or cellar for up to 15 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Located in Campania, in the heart of the Taurasi appellation area, the Quintodecimo estate was founded by professor Luigi Moio, one of the most renowned personalities in the Italian wine sector. In this wonderful green area, the climate, the soil, and the vines coexist in an extraordinary balance, creating the ideal natural conditions for the production of high-quality wines. The company adopts organic farming practices in full respect of the soil, the microclimate, and the plant biodiversity to produce ripe and healthy fruits. The Aglianico grapes for the Taurasi Riserva, come from the Grande Cerzito vineyard planted in 2004 on the southern slope of the estate, on volcanic and well-drained soil that allows high oxygenation at the roots. It is a powerful and elegant red wine, which spends from 18 to 24 months in new French oak barrels and another 24 months of aging in the bottle. It is very long-lived and shows an excellent ability to improve over the years. The wine has an intense ruby-red color. On the nose, it reveals a complex aromatic profile with refined notes of cherry and plum along with delicate hints of mint, eucalyptus, incense, and chocolate. On the palate, it is broad, round, and rich with firm but velvety tannins. It is a full-bodied wine with great elegance and persistence. Try it with main courses based on roasted or stewed meat and long-aged cheeses.
