Siduri Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2019
Gyártó: Siduri
Cellar for up to 10 years. Decanting is optional, up to 30 minutes before serving. The name Siduri comes from the Babylonian goddess of wine, brewers and innkeepers, who appeared in the ancient poem the Epic of Gilgamesh. For viticultural power couple Adam Lee and Dianna Novy, it began with a shared love for Pinot Noir. Now, their heavenly winery spans the continental United States, from California to Oregon. Unusually for an Oregon wine region, Willamette Valley is on the west side of the Cascade Mountains, closer to the ocean. Nevertheless, it experiences long, sunny days and cold nights, which has led to its Pinot Noirs being compared to some of the best wines in Burgundy. Aromas of red hedgerow berries and fleshy persimmon can be discovered on the nose, along with savoury, stewpot notes of bay leaf and subtle earthy quality. The fruits for this were sourced from three appellations in Willamette Valley that showcase the full spectrum of the region’s flavours. The wine was aged for 10 months in French oak, giving it satisfying, oaky tannins. A medley of blackberry, raspberry and boysenberry appears on the palate, with warming cinnamon, notes of clove, and crisp acidity. This will be a great companion for pasta dishes or roast turkey with cranberry sauce.
