Knoll Gruner Veltliner Federspiel 2019
Gyártó: Knoll
Cellar for up to 4 years. Serve chilled. The Knoll family have played a critical role in establishing the Wachau’s reputation as one of the finest white wine producing regions in the world. The family bottled their first wines in the 1950s and first began to use their trademark image of Saint Urban in 1962. Today their iconic labels are famous across Austria and beyond. Nowadays the estate is run by Emmerich II and Monika Knoll together with their son Emmerich II who work 15 hectares of vines in and around the village of Unterloiben. Their Gruner Veltliner Federspiel is sourced from estate vineyards in and around Unterloiben which have an average age of 20-25 years and are planted on well-draining sandy aluvial soils. The grapes are harvested by hand to maintain quality and fermented using a combination of wild and commercial yeasts. The young wine is then aged on the lees for 3 months before bottling. The nose opens with subtle aromas of red apples, bright citrus and fresh herbs while the first sip reveals a light body, refreshing acidity and pure, clean finish with white peach and zesty notes. This energetic Gruner makes a great aperitif or partner for summer salads, fresh seafood and fish dishes, or sushi and spicy Asian dishes.
