Gattavecchi Vernaccia di San Gimignano 2021
Gyártó: Gattavecchi
Drink now or cellar for up to 4 years. Serve chilled. With a winemaking history that stretches back at least five generations, the Gattavecchis have an impressive pedigree when it comes to Tuscan wines. Today the estate is run by Valente Gattavecchi and his children, Luca, Gionata, and Daniela who tend to prime vineyards in both Montepulciano and San Gimignano. As well as top quality terroir, the family also have a state of the art winery that is entirely run by renewable energy. Tuscany may be best known for its sensational red wines, but the family also crafts this excellent white wine with Vernaccia grapes from their San Gimignano vineyards. Once in the winery the fruit is pressed in a special horizontal press and fermented at a low temperature to preserve freshness. The final stage is to age the young wine in stainless steel tanks prior to filtering and bottling. In the glass there’s an attractive pale yellow hue with enticing aromas of ripe peaches, white flowers like almond blossom and acacia, and refreshing notes of lemon zest. The palate zingy and bright with a mouthwatering acidity, light body, and pure, clean finish ending on delicate notes of salty minerality.
