Kosher wine. Cellar for up to 3 years. Serve chilled. Flam was founded in 1998 by brothers Golam and Gilad Flam along with their mother, Kami. Their family has long been involved in winemaking and the brothers’ father, Israel, is considered one of the country’s pioneering winemakers. The new family winery is set in the stunning Judean Hills near Jerusalem between the forest of Kdoshim and the Kisalon river. The Flams seek to combine Israel’s excellent terroir with time-honoured European winemaking techniques and expertise. This elegant rosé is crafted predominantly from Syrah with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon added to the cuvee. Grapes are harvested early in the morning to preserve freshness and aromatics and the finest first juice from the press is used to create this wine. On the nose there are delicate notes of strawberries, red cherries and raspberries while the first sip reveals a bright acidity, light body and hints of mint and dried herbs as well as ample red berry flavours. The finish is clean and pure with notes of citrus and subtle minerality, making this a great choice to serve as an aperitif or with leafy summer salads, creamy cheeses or fresh seafood.
