Vietti Barbera d'Alba Tre Vigne 2016
Gyártó: Vietti
Drink now through to 2022. No need to decant before serving. The story of the Vietti estate began in 1919 when Mario Vietti started to produce the very first Vietti wines. Over the years the family has made a name for the estate around the world and established themselves as one of the top Piemonte wine producers. In the last century Alfredo Currado played a critical role in the estate’s development when he made the decision to vinify grapes from single vineyard sites separately. Although seen as radical at the time, this forward-thinking approach is now used by almost all producers of Barolo and Barbaresco. Amongst Vietti’s masterful bottlings is this sensational Barbera d’Alba which is crafted from Barbera grapes sourced from three top vineyards in Monforte, Castiglione Falletto, and La Morra which are planted on a mixture of clay and limestone soils. The wine opens with intense aromas of red cherries and vanilla which evolve on the palate to cherry jam, kirsch and dried violets. There is a smooth texture, medium body and bright acidity which makes this an excellent partner for traditional local antipasti, hearty meat stews, and chicken or pork served with a tomato sauce.
