Drink now through to 2028. Serve chilled. Bruce Dukes founded his own winery after a 25-year long career as a winemaker. During that time he worked at the renowned Pierro Winery in Margaret River as well as at Niebaum-Coppola in Napa which is owned by Francis Ford Coppola. Domaine Naturaliste is set in the north-eastern corner of Margaret River in Wilyabrup where Bruce’s vines are planted just 7km from the Indian Ocean. This proximity to the coast gives the region a mild Mediterranean climate with plenty of sunshine and cooling breezes from the ocean which help to preserve freshness and aromatics in Bruce’s wines. Bruce’s Discovery Chardonnay takes inspiration from his time at Pierro which is renowned for its world-class Chardonnay wines. The fruit for this wine is sourced from the south of the Margaret River region and fermented and matured in French oak barrels. The young wine is left to age in the barrel for 7 months on the lees to add complexity and a rich, creamy texture. White peach, apricots and bright citrus notes mingle on the nose with hints of brioche, toast and vanilla. The first sip reveals a medium body, smooth texture and gentle tannins with hints of spice and stone fruit on the long finish. Drink alongside creamy fish or chicken dishes or hearty winter salads.
