Cuvelier Family Chateau Leoville Poyferre Chateau Le Crock 2016
Gyártó: Cuvelier Family
Cellar for up to 20-25 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Built in the late 1700s, and surrounded by a 6-hectare park including a pond, Chateau Le Crock has the peculiarity of being south-facing, and not facing the river like most other estates. Since 1903 the company has belonged to the Cuvelier family (also the owner of the Chateau Leoville-Poyferre in Saint-Julien and of the Cuvelier Los Andes company in Argentina). Chateau Le Crock produces wines of great elegance and beautiful aromatic complexity within the Saint-Estephe appellation. Previously known as Basterot-Segur, its vineyard now extends over 32 hectares, on the top of the Marbuzet ridge, and is spread over three distinct settlements, on a terroir composed of gravel, sand, and clay, enjoying exceptional richness and aromatic diversity. Chateau Le Crock is a blend of traditional Medoc grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. In the glass, the wine shows a beautiful ruby color, clear and elegant. After decanting for at least an hour, the aromatic profile will open with fruit aromas and spicy notes. In the mouth, it has a good body. It is austere and persistent and shows excellent aging potential. It is the ideal wine to pair with wild game, roasted red meat, and long-aged cheeses.
