Cattunar Malvasia Collina 2015
Gyártó: Cattunar
Drink now through to 2024. Serve chilled. The Cattunar family have a long and noble history of practising viticulture in western Istria and the current owner of the winery, Franco Cattunar, became one of Croatia’s first private winemakers during the last years of communist rule in the country. Today he and his wife Vesna look after one of the largest wineries in Istria with over 56 hectares of vines and they have recently been joined in the family business by their daughter Nicole and son Edi. This breathtaking white wine is made with traditional Istrian Malvasia grown in some of Croatia’s top vineyards. The nose opens with enchanting aromas of ripe apricots, acacia blossom, grapefruit, baking spices and vanilla hints from the extended ageing in oak barrels. The first sip reveals a robust full body, deep flavours of white peach and pear, and a distinctive flinty minerality. This generous, multi-layered flavour profile and generous structure makes Cattunar’s Collina a wonderfully versatile gastronomic wine. Try serving it alongside lobster, roasted chicken or veal chops to complement the creamy texture and intense flavours of the wine. It will also make an excellent partner for spicy and fragrant Thai or Indian curries.
