Ideally drink 2016-2028 Decant for 2 hours The pale garnet colour of the 2010 Barolo is synonymous with the Nebbiolo grape. However, it can change to a beautiful brick orange over time and is very pleasing to the eye. On the nose there is a complexity that is exciting and intriguing. Plum, raspberry, ripe cherries, vanilla and spice with a little menthol thrown in for good measure. The palate reveals the fruit that the nose promised with ripe almost stewed cherry, raspberry, blueberry and plum. The layers of flavour continue with coffee, chocolate, cinnamon and vanilla all combining to produce a truly fabulously complex and interesting wine. The acidity is fresh and the tannins are well integrated giving it depth and body. The finish is long and satisfying, ending with a flourish and just a little spice. A truly great wine that is perfect with steak, game, venison, paté and strong cheese.
