Antinori Tormaresca Masseria Maime Negroamaro Salento 2019
Gyártó: Antinori
Drink today or cellar for up to 8 years. No need to decant before drinking. Tucked in Southern Italy’s Puglia region, is Salento, a sub-peninsula of the Italian Peninsula, widely known as the “heel” of Italy. There, the Antonori family has been caring for the vines of Tormaresca since 1998. Overlooking the Adriatic Sea, all wines produced at Tormaresca are from 100 percent estate-grown fruit. Chalky soils, ample sunshine, and higher elevation give the wines of Tormaresca vibrant character with firm elegance. Negroamaro is a dark-skinned red variety native to Southern Italy and almost exclusively grown in Salento. It is known for having a bitter, earthy flavor profile accented by perfumed aromatics. The Tormaresca Masseria Maime Negroamaro celebrates the characteristics of this ancient grape variety. Upon opening, the nose is initially greeted with a burst of lavender and herbal notes. As it swirls in the glass, forest floor, sour cherry, licorice, and toasted vanilla begin to emerge. The depth of color and boldness on the nose is passed on in the palate with intense black fruits, spicy clove, dried tobacco leaf, and a long finish of dark chocolate. Smooth tannins and a soft acidity give this wine a silky mouthfeel. This Negroamaro can be enjoyed with hearty stews and red pasta dishes, a variety of meats including lamb and pork, charred barbecue, and charcuterie.
