Te Mata Estate Syrah 2017
Gyártó: Te Mata
Cellar for up to 5 years. Decant up to 1 hour, best served at 16-20° This Estate Syrah glows with a deep purple hued ruby red, flirting with shades of magenta. The nose too, resembles fruit that straddles the line between red and purple. With black cherry, plum, and overripe raspberry, the aroma is accompanied by floral components of violets and hibiscus. The palate comes forward with rich ripe black berry and blueberry pie, seasoned with cinnamon and nutmeg. With fine tannins and a sumptuous mouthfeel, this elegant wine will invite you back for many more enjoyable sips. Medium in body, but densely packed with pure fruit and exotic spice, the wine yearns for the savory and lightly spiced dishes of mediterranean islands, venison with a black peppercorn cream sauce, or a smoked pork chop. This Estate Syrah was made using a French technique from the Northern Rhone Valley, where they incorporate a bit of Viognier grapes, allowing for sumptuous floral notes to come through, while maintaining a structured and complex red wine. One of New Zealand’s oldest wineries, Te Mata has been family owned and operated since 1896, exclusively sourcing grapes from Hawke’s Bay. With a firm stake in the reputation of the region for producing internationally recognized wines, Te Mata selects only the finest grapes, while taking detailed care in producing outstanding wines.
